The Fantasy Role Playing Game

This is the Fantasy Role Playing Game (or FRP for short).  The FRP is a game that I invented in 1982 and which I have been working on ever since.  We play it a lot in games and I have even demonstrated it at several conventions.  Many of the ideas you see in games of today started out as rules for Simulacron I (the game set).  Although I haven’t sued anyone over their usage of my rules I have always said that should they sue me I will bring out my copyrights and sue them back.  So basically, I just don’t have the time or money to go around suing large corporations.  This game will incorporate many of the rules which govern Simulacron I and I am hoping, now that I’ve learned PHP extremely well, to be able to complete the game so everyone can play in it and have a lot of fun (and maybe I can make some money with it also).  The game uses just standard HTML, XML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, and PHP (of course!).  The reason for this is because I want as many people to be able to play the game as possible.  So the game will detect what version of your browser you are using and act accordingly.  The simplest will be for Netscape v3 and before.  There will be almost no movement at all in the graphics and the Javascript will be kept to a minimum.  Further, no CSS or XML will be used.  At version 4.0 and on - more Javascript, then CSS, and finally XML.  With other browsers such as Internet Explorer - the same will hold true.  The most simple things first, then more complex as you go along.  In order to be able to play the game like a true game - you will have to have your Internet Explorer updated to the most current version.  Not IE v7.x or IE v8.x - but at least the most current version if IE v6.x.  This is because the basic IE v6.0 browser had a lot of problems which were fixed in later releases.  So in order to not have your Internet Explorer crash and burn - it would be best to upgrade to the latest version.  You can do this by just bringing up Internet Explorer and going to the Tools menu option and selecting the “Windows Update” option.  That will take you immediately to Microsoft’s update website.  Select the “Custom” button and then just follow the directions.  As for Opera, Safari, or Chrome - all bets are off.  I’m only one person and I can - later on - add support for them but right now it’s just me and I need to concentrate on the two largest browsers.  I’ll post again when I’ve got the other three up and running correctly.  Later!
